Golden Sweet Snow Peas

Golden Sweet snow pea

I don’t know why, but I rarely buy snow peas at the store, even though I love the extra snap they give to stir-fries and salads. Maybe it’s because all the stores carry the same boring, green variety. So when I found these Golden Sweet snow peas (Pisum sativum) at Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, I had to grow them.

The slinky, light green vines have been vigorously climbing up my trellis and blooming beautiful purple flowers all season, with the first signs of sunshine yellow snow peas now budding. I think they are pretty enough to use in a flower arrangement!
