
Okay, so it may feel like spring around here, but guess what? A few hours north, it’s anything but!
The last big dump at Mammoth Mountain a couple weekends ago brought over 3 feet of fluff in just a few days (adding to the 12-foot base they already had). And with temperatures bitter cold at night (at one point my mobile weather app claimed 2°F at dinnertime… 2°F! What?!), the snow stayed light and dry, unlike the “Sierra cement” we typically get.

I was stoked to strap on my powder board and feel the burn. Bluebird day, untouched powder, rooster tails flying… it’s a beautiful thing.
