Bee-autiful

A snapshot from my garden.

I am endlessly fascinated by the work that the humble honeybee does in our food system.

Do you grow a bee-friendly garden?

Naturalist Euell Gibbons used to locate linden trees for their edibles, by the sound made by the beehives that were located in each one. The bees love linden trees. (Also called “basswood”) I also love the description of bee swarming at the beginning of Kevin Kelly’s book “Out of Control” (covers swarm behavior, and the biological nature of the new engineering disciplines of evolved systems).
