Love Is in the Air (and the Water)

Heart-shaped flower petal from Panama

A delicate yellow petal floats in a pond.

It came from this flower, found on a hike through the volcanic crater village of El Valle de Antón, Panama, one of the most fertile valleys in the world.

Tropical flower from Panama

Have a bright and beautiful Valentine’s Day!

Ah, thanks for the ID! I’ve always seen them as potted plants but never knew their name. It was neat to see them growing in the wild.

Betty, that is a shrimp plant, I do not know the biological name. I grow it in a pot in California, it s a lovely coral/red color.
