If you didn’t make the most of Amazon Prime Days in July, you’re in luck. Amazon just announced a second set of Amazon Prime Days on October 11 and October 12, 2022, and it’s good. Really good.
The official name of this 48-hour sale event is the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale, and it’s a massive holiday shopping kickoff that’s exclusive to Prime members.
Pssst… If you aren’t a Prime member yet, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial here. Becoming a member gives you access to Prime deals and fast free shipping, as well as Amazon Music, Amazon Photos, Prime Video, Prime Wardrobe, and a year of free GrubHub+ delivery, among other benefits (all of which I personally use and love).
How to find the best Amazon home and garden deals
Even though the sale officially begins on October 11, you can start shopping thousands of early access deals at this link here. Then on October 11 and October 12, return to that page and you’ll be able to see live deals released by Amazon throughout the day.
I am personally bookmarking the Tools & Home Improvement gift guide and Home & Kitchen gift guide to see what kind of deals (and Lightning Deals) happen during the Prime Early Access Sale.
Here are some my favorite home and garden deals right now:
- Gorilla Cart 600-Pound Quick Dump Wheelbarrow (this is a workhorse in my garden)
- Nisaku Hori Hori Weeding and Digging Knife (another must-have garden tool)

What’s the difference between Amazon Prime Days, Amazon Prime Early Access Sale, and Black Friday?
I know, so many sales. Amazon Prime Days used to be an annual event that happened in the summer. For the first time ever, the retailer decided to host a second big sale (dubbed the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale) to help people get a head start on holiday shopping. (I mean, why not? My local stores already have Christmas wreaths and string lights sharing aisle space with Halloween decorations!)
Unlike Black Friday, which is a sale event open to everybody, Prime Days and Prime Early Access Sale is only available to Prime members. If you’re not a member, you won’t see the special markdowns.
You can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime here, or if you’re a student with an .edu email address, you can sign up for a free 6-month trial of Prime Student (which renews after the trial at half the price of a regular membership).
Another program that many people are not aware of is that Amazon offers half-price Prime memberships to those who receive SNAP, Medicaid, or other government assistance. You can start your free 30-day Prime Access trial here, then take advantage of all the same Prime perks at a steep discount.

I would love to surprise my husband with drip irritation and a timer. I wonder if there is a good book on designing water-smart gardening solutions for home gardeners. Thank you!!
We have been in a year of transition from moving to growing our family, so I had to take a year off of gardening. We now have more space but are starting from scratch in the landscaping/garden area. I would spend the gift card on fall planting and spring garden supplies!
I would love to be able buy a water timer and drip irrigation. Thanks for the opportunity.
I teach garden classes at my local school for elementary and middle school students. With $500 I would purchase a gorilla cart, pruners, propagation supplies, and organic fertilizers to be used by the students in our school garden.
If I won a gift card, I would buy new tools. My Husband and I started getting more serious with gardening in 2020 and we love it! So much so that we started a YouTube Channel, Dearest Garden. Growing our own food has truly been rewarding for us and our little ones enjoy helping us also. The tools we would get are shovels, pruners, and bo-rake. I am also loving that Propagation station listed above. Thanks so much for the chance!! Happy growing!!
We’re in contract on our first house, so I need allllll the garden and home improvement things! Haha
I’d start with a decent mortar and pestle for my herbal medicine making!! Lol! Maybe a mini greenhouse for all my treasured potted herbs and decent lighting for their winter “home”!
We are a family of 8 and ever since the pandemic started, I always thought of starting our own garden to be able to grow our own food. I just don’t have the tools and experience. This will help me fulfill that thought as I learn more from your blog!
I’m an Orange County Master Gardener and enjoy your blog. If I win I would continue adding specimen plants to my plant collection of more than 500 plants. I’m relearning the art of bonsai and plan to create a bonsai forest.
I’m just starting gardening and need to invest in several items. I’ve really enjoyed your blogs. I’m setting up raises beds for next year and I would love to take your garden course.
To be honest, I will not spend it on gardening deals just like what everyone here is asking. I really need it for helping my mom start her own business. The pandemic has hit everyone and our family hasn’t fully risen up. We have no stable income so hoping I get to be picked!
I’m gonna be a college student next year and I plan on spending it on a new laptop and saving what will be left of it. I’m a college examinee in the course BS in Agriculture since I came from a family of farmers and have a passion for this. Hoping to win!
Thank you for the giveaway. I’d love to win. I’m doing a huge garden expansion for next year.
I would love to buy a cordless mower! Honestly would revolutionise my weekends. I really would one day like a robotic one but I’m not sure I can stretch that even with a $500 gift. But just not mowing over the cable would really help to be honest.
Oh goodness, there are so many things I would love to treat myself to! I would love to get a Subpod to try it out, been fascinated with the idea since I first saw them! I would also probably get new forks and spades, mine are a bit rusty :/ and with anything left over I think some new planters for my driveway!
If I would win, I will use it to buy blocks, cements, and other tools to help us renovate our old garden. It has been ignored since my grandma and grandpa got old and weak. I plan on beautifying it and hopefully it’ll be done before Christmas!
Since we live in home that is over 150 years old and has 9 acres to manage I will continue adding to my arsenal of tools. The leaf blower, leaf shredder by Worx. We care for an elderly man and he loves to be outside so maybe some new rakes and more ergonomic tools as well.
I have been wanting a cordless leaf blower! And until I saw your list I had never thought of an electric leaf mulcher. We could certainly put that to good use. And congratulations on the book release, can’t wait to reads it… yes, I read cookbooks for fun.
I’d start with the garden knife and then work on building up my gardening tools.
My purchase would definitely be all the Fiskar products they are the best tools ever and my set is not complete yet!!!
I’d go for the Gorilla wheelbarrow &/Or the Rainbird irrigation kit. But I am swinging between my “wants” & my “needs” for the garden! So much great stuff, so little time! Thank you for this opportunity!
I would get the drip irrigation system and probably start on my kids Christmas shopping 🙂
If I win one of the items that I would purchase would be the liquid fence. As the deer had quite a snack on my broccoli, vale collards and tender greens lol. It looked like a lawn mower came thru.
Galvanized raised garden beds to finally start my garden
I would buy the tile tracker stickers
I’m buying a green gorilla cart, because carts are like potato chips, you can’t have just one.
I’m caring for a bedridden terminally ill loved one, so I would use it to buy him a mattress topper, as laying around is beginning to take its toll on his back and shoulders. I’d also love to get him a few other things to help and make him more comfortable, such as a button/pager system so I can more easily wake up to care for him when he needs me at night.
Definitely several hori hori tools, my go-to gift for gardening friends! But, alas, I can’t meet the Instagram requirements because I don’t do social media apps, not a one! So sad that I’m eliminated from your giveaway . I’ve been following your blog for years (I’ve learned so much from you)! Oh! And some felco tools for me.
Omg sheesh idk so much hahaha definitely more items for my props and I need hygrometer lights pots dirt plants hahaha just everything lol ty for this chance!!!
I’d buy the Ninja 14 in 1 Foodi Cooker
If I won I’d def buy an indoor hydroponics system. My chihuahua loves fresh lettuce right out of my mini aero garden. I’d love to buy a Gardyn so the entire family could eat fresh vegetables all year round.
I’m a new bee I need all sorts of indoor gardening for the winter in NY. Also I would get a Mason jar sealing kit for what I can store that is dry goods I’d also love your book oh where to begin!!! All suggestions welcome! Thank you everyone!❤❤❤
I am restoring a circa 1880 home and want to recreate a traditional victorian garden with traditional landscaping of the era and a small greenhouse
I am restoring a circa 1880 home and want to recreate a traditional victorian garden with traditional landscaping of the era and a small grrenhouse
Pots, always more pots lol…indoor propagation lights and shelf, irrigation things, tools. Fun contest!
I’m always in need of garden supplies so I’d provably buy new tools and I also need to find some type of greenhouse cover for one of my raised garden beds! Fall is here and the weather is finally getting a bit cooler here in So Cal so a cover would be a tomato saver!
I’m working towards becoming a professional nature photographer. With that gift card, I would be able to get the camera lens I need to help fulfill that dream
I’d purchase Tile Trackers Pyrex set, Fiskat tools
Next year is the year I’m finally setting up drip irrigation, so I’d use my gift card towards that. Thanks!
I need to replace all of my garden tools. I didn’t remember how inexpensive the fiskers tools are! Definitely on my list!
