My favorite Amazon home and garden deals on Amazon

This post is in partnership with @amazoninfluencerprogram and @amazonhome. All thoughts and words are my own.

Disclosure: If you shop from my article or make a purchase through one of my links, I may receive commissions on some of the products I recommend.

If you didn’t make the most of Amazon Prime Days in July, you’re in luck. Amazon just announced a second set of Amazon Prime Days on October 11 and October 12, 2022, and it’s good. Really good.

The official name of this 48-hour sale event is the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale, and it’s a massive holiday shopping kickoff that’s exclusive to Prime members.

Pssst… If you aren’t a Prime member yet, you can sign up for a 30-day free trial here. Becoming a member gives you access to Prime deals and fast free shipping, as well as Amazon Music, Amazon Photos, Prime Video, Prime Wardrobe, and a year of free GrubHub+ delivery, among other benefits (all of which I personally use and love).

How to find the best Amazon home and garden deals

Even though the sale officially begins on October 11, you can start shopping thousands of early access deals at this link here. Then on October 11 and October 12, return to that page and you’ll be able to see live deals released by Amazon throughout the day.

I am personally bookmarking the Tools & Home Improvement gift guide and Home & Kitchen gift guide to see what kind of deals (and Lightning Deals) happen during the Prime Early Access Sale.

What’s the difference between Amazon Prime Days, Amazon Prime Early Access Sale, and Black Friday?

I know, so many sales. Amazon Prime Days used to be an annual event that happened in the summer. For the first time ever, the retailer decided to host a second big sale (dubbed the Amazon Prime Early Access Sale) to help people get a head start on holiday shopping. (I mean, why not? My local stores already have Christmas wreaths and string lights sharing aisle space with Halloween decorations!)

Unlike Black Friday, which is a sale event open to everybody, Prime Days and Prime Early Access Sale is only available to Prime members. If you’re not a member, you won’t see the special markdowns.

You can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime here, or if you’re a student with an .edu email address, you can sign up for a free 6-month trial of Prime Student (which renews after the trial at half the price of a regular membership).

Another program that many people are not aware of is that Amazon offers half-price Prime memberships to those who receive SNAP, Medicaid, or other government assistance. You can start your free 30-day Prime Access trial here, then take advantage of all the same Prime perks at a steep discount.

  1. I enjoy your blog posts because of all the good info you provide. I would buy the works leaf muncher and the gorilla cart.

  2. I would love to use the $500 for Christmas gifts for the many friends of mine that have taken up gardening in the past two years and need some quality tools! I too love the hori-hori knife, my Felco pruners, and also my Felco flower snips. Fiskars is constantly impressing me with the quality of all their new garden tools. Have you ever used their hatchet?! I’m an arborist and I have to say it beats out much of the long time quality hatchet producers – sthil, husky, etc.!

  3. I would get some items to fill in the gaps in the gardening tools I have. I like the Gorilla Cart you have in your list. Maybe some rain barrel water collection system things.

  4. I would love to buy food and some clothing essentials for my family. It’s been a rough 2 years thanks to a major car accident and 2 major surgeries on my spine. There is one other thing I’d love to have an it’s a roll around organizer for my sewing room. I’ve had my eye on it for a while. It would help keep me organized and focused which is hard since I now have short term memory loss thanks to hitting my head twice during the wreck.

    1. I would love anything to help me with my gardening. I have a few raised beds and would love more so I could grow enough to feed my family and freeze any extra.

  5. I need most of the items, like the digging and weeding knife, collapsible garden bag, netting, stakes for plant support, potting/ seeding gardening soil, plant protection, and maybe a small tiller. I would love to redesign my garden.

  6. I would buy some more gardening, preserving books, some potting soil and hand tools and some grubs for my chickens

  7. Hello. Thank you for the opportunity to win a git card. In the event I am a winner, I will fill my cart with as many houseplant items as I can. I love pots and would appreciate having a couple of floor stands. Best wishes.

  8. Hi! I’ve been meaning to get a collapsible leaf bin for a while, so that’s one thing. I also love the unique salt and pepper shakers- simple yet artistic.
    Thanks for your sunny posts!

  9. It’s time for me to get new garden gloves! Amazon app, here I come for a little early Christmas shopping for me!

  10. Thank you for always sharing your smart home and garden tips! I don’t have an outdoor garden yet so right now I need some nice planters and plant stands! And I’ve never heard of the 14 in 1 smart cooker before but I cook a lot and would love to try it.

  11. Wow.. such a great giveaway. I’d definitely get some garden tools to replace my aged ones. Definitely seeds and a couple lawn chairs. This is awesome!!

  12. I’ve been wanting the Gorilla Cart for quite a while now, so that would be a definite. I would also love to get some new raised beds for veggies to replace my current ones that are literally on their last legs! Love following you and enjoy all your gardening tips.

  13. Your Blog is the best, following your adventures is a treat !
Your Garden advice is invaluable !
I would really be able to use the Quick Dump Wheelbarrow. The WORX cordless string trimmer would be a huge help in my yard !

  14. I would purchase supplies to build two more raised beds in our backyard. We had two this year and want to grow so much more!

  15. Love your blog & look forward to your emails!
I would love to start an outdoor kitchen setup! My first purchase would be an Ooni wood fired ouzza oven or maybe a DIY brick oven kit. A mushroom growing room is also on my wish list.
Thank you so much for your inspiration & guidance!

  16. Such a fun give-away! I would have to decide between using it to set up an indoor hydroponics system or set up a small greenhouse to extend our growing season. Gradually, we hope to do both.

  17. The National Parks cookbook by Linda Ly. And more gear that I need for using the Backyard Fire Cookbook and Camp Cookbook. I’m looking forward to using my firepit this winter.

  18. I have at least 2 things I would like to buy the first would be 8x4x2ft Galvanized Metal Raised Garden Bed for Vegetables, Outdoor Garden Raised Planter Box, Backyard Patio Planter Raised Beds for Flowers, Herbs, Fruits. It would be ideal for the area I have for vegetables and herbs. The other thing I definitely would get is a leaf blower.

  19. I’d buy a lawn mower that’s like a Roomba, where you don’t have to mush it around.
    Or a electric lawn mower.
Or decorative no dig fencing for my Yorkies, yup that would be 1st, my dogs are the best.

  20. There are several things I would love to get if I were to win. I would definitely get an irrigation system kit. Some more garden beds for sure. Last but not least, I want a vermicomposting system! I appreciate all your informational posts! Thanks for the chance.

  21. I would definitely use it towards the purchase of a new snow blower for the upcoming winter. The one that I had been using for over 15 years has finally given out. It would be a true blessing since my health doesn’t allow for shoveling these days.

    1. If I were to win one of the two $500 Amazon gift cards, I would first sign up for
Amazon prime. Selecting items with the remaining $400 on the gift card would
be exciting that it would be hard to choose. I would have to choose the Yard Bird
drip irrigation system. Here in my corner of Las Vegas, NV, it is so dry year round.
An irrigation system would help me water more efficiently and save valuable
water which is in short supply at this time. This would solve most of my garden
      problems.

  22. I love reading your blog though now that you live in Oregon our planting zones differ quite a bit. Still I learn from you each time you post.
I want a hori hori knife, propagation vases, and a leaf mulcher! I would like to replace my hand me down tools with bright shiny ones!

  23. Linda,

This is very generous of you! Thanks for all the tips and suggestions on the prime membership options and deals.

If I am chosen, I will be ordering window insulation sheeting, insulating curtains, some space heaters, winter clothes and boots, warm slippers and PJs for my kids and me. Winter is coming fast!

Thanks again for your kindness and helpful insights!

  24. We expanded our garden and just finished a greenhouse. So need some things to go with it. Would love that Gorilla Tote but also things like a soil blocker set and drip irrigation. Gardening on a budget here 🙂

  25. I would love the rainbird drip irrigation kit and honestly the whole list you’ve supplied of gardening tools. I’m setting up my garden on a new piece of property we bought in TN and I need it all. Thanks for all the great tips and tricks you give, they’re so helpful!

  26. I would get the Gorilla cart and the EGO cordless blower for starters. I plan on making raised beds and will have some heavy duty hauling to do. Also I would get a few of the Rain Bird drip irrigation systems for my wife’s many flower beds. And a few of the other items in your list. I do enjoy your news letter and blog with the garden knowledge you share…. thanks

  27. Looking forward to checking out all the deals for this new October sale on Amazon, will be going through your list of favorites as well to see what to add to my inventory for gardening! Thank you for the post and all the advice given!

  28. For starters, I love your blog. I’m a Midwest gardener and love all things “dirt-y”! We live in the midst of a yellow poplar forest, however, and the acidic nature of decaying leaves and the shade, really challenge my skills. I’ve tried leaf mulching units in the past as well as mower mulching. I have 19 hard-working chickens who also help turn leaves. I’m really interested in the Worx Leaf Mulcher. Also, the deer ate all of my hosts this year and last. They were BEAUTIFUL & those rascals decimated them despite my attempts to fence them off for protection. I’d love to try the deer and rabbit repellent to accompany my fencing. I’d also like to purchase more fencing for my chickens to encourage rotational growing/scratching plots for their nutrition & enjoyment.
