End-of-Year Gratitude

Do I say thank you enough?

Every time I get a new comment, every time I get a nice email or a tweet or a post from a follower, it makes me smile. Thank you.

And the messages that really make my day are the ones from people who tell me how my blog has inspired them in some way. When Garden Betty began as my personal diary last year, I had no idea how much of a reach my site would actually have. A few gardeners trickled in… then fellow adventurers and travelers… then people who just popped in because they love life as much as I do — all of them unknown to me, aside from a screen name and a headshot. And the things that these kind strangers wrote were incredibly uplifting and beautiful. Thank you.

When I look over my site stats and discover where some of them came from, I’m stunned. Morocco… South Africa… India… Nicaragua… England… Germany… Australia… New Zealand… the list goes on and on. I don’t know how they all find me, but I’m beyond thrilled that Garden Betty is global! Thank you.

Throughout the year I save my favorite emails and tweets because they inspire me. Reading them on a rainy day motivates me to keep sharing and writing more and better content. And though I may never meet most of my followers in person, I’m grateful that something so simple as a blog can shorten the distances between all these virtual friends and me.

I have enjoyed getting to know some of you, and look forward to meeting many more in the next year. Thanks so much for hangin’ out!
