Five Things Friday

Las olas

The five little things that made my week… (at our Dream Boat in Baja!)

2. Riding it all the way to the beach.

Sunset session

3. Sunset session with my favorite people.

Baja-style fire pits

4. Our newly upcycled fire pits, christened later that night with a Dutch oven chile verde in one and a bonfire in the other.

Pit stop at Pepe's

5. Pit stop at Pepe’s before crossing the border. So many things right with this picture.

Love the fire pits! What does it take to make them? Do they work well?

It just takes two Weber grills (or any charcoal grill) – ours were old (found) but functional, they just had broken legs so we disassembled them from the legs. They’re slightly elevated on stones to allow airflow, but otherwise we didn’t dig anything. They work great! We burn wooden logs in them. If you want to grill, you can put the grates back on and just cook over coals.
