Real-Life Mom Tips for Stress-Free Camping With a Baby

Are you hoping to introduce your baby to the joys of camping and sleeping under the stars? Fear not, it's easier than you might think!

My own kids have been camping in tents since they were newborns and along the way, I've picked up a few tips and tricks for making our family adventures as fun and stress-free as possible.

Here's how we've enjoyed our time together outdoors and kept our little ones safe and comfortable!

Pack plenty of diapers.

01.

Disposable diapers weigh nothing and can be shoved into the tiniest nook in a duffel, so we brought nearly double the amount we normally used at home.

02.

Pack plenty of layers.

Babies can’t regulate their body temperatures very well, so it’s super important to keep your little one comfortably warm and dry.

03.

Bring a familiar comfort from home.

We brought a couple of her blankets from home so she would have a familiar scent to snuggle with in the stroller.

04.

Bring a bag of “just in case” toiletries.

When we go out of town, we pack the snotsucker, nail scissors, baby ointment, aloe vera, and hand sanitizer with it, along with the usual assortment of swaddles and burp cloths.

05.

Take it easy on yourself.

Remember that camping is a time to get away, kick back, and relieve yourself of day-to-day drudgery. Be fluid. Prioritize fun.
